Scripture: 1 Kings 9:4-5
Now if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’

Secular Lyrics

Post  Michael Bates on Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:25 pm

Integrity lyrics:
Hide the truth away for now but not for very long
knowing what is right for all but still do what is wrong
no knife no rope or handgun but a criminal as well
peace of mind for future time is what they try to sell
behind your big black knowing desk
divine daytime t.v. hiding all the truth from all
with no integrity
no knife no rope or handgun but a criminal as well
peace of mind for future time is what they try to sell
God needs some donations I guess he's got to pay his rent
old lady stands at a mailbox with a social security check
send him all your money to keep his program on
so tomorrow he can tell you that all you do is wrong

Christian lyrics

Post  Michael Bates on Thu Mar 26, 2009 4:34 pm

It's a Christian song talking about struggling with integrity. I hope it's not too much like "Breathing to Death" that we already used in January.

Honor and Integrity by Staple:
I've said all my "Hail Mary's" and I've recited all the right prayers.
I've done a lot in the name of God to gain this solace from your stares.
So break bread as I take unholy communion once more.
As righteous as filthy rags bleeding on the floor.
I'm sitting ripe, sitting fresh in my mire.
Behold the poison untold.
I've tried to show the world just how great a man can be,
but this great man I've charaded is the farthest thing from me.
THE MAN THAT I'VE SHOWN IS A MAN I DON'T KNOW.

So shall it be: Sown lies shall reap.
Honor has died with integrity.

What can I say?
That I've lived what I've told?
They bought me, but I hate the manner through which I was sold.
I know exactly what to do, I know exactly what to say, I believe every word
it's just so hard to obey: Trojan horse lies filled with big butterflies and they bought me.
They took the bate.
Hook, line and false, flaky, dimple-creased smile.
Sit back and enjoy the show!
I'll have you hooked too, in just a little while.

So shall it be: Sown lies shall reap.
Honor has died with integrity.

I've lived all these lies.
No more compromising.
I know what to do.
I know what to say.
I believe every word; it's just so hard to obey!
I know what I've created - this mess that shadows me - it leaves my concious tainted!
I want authenticity, integrity.
Jesus, forgive me.

So shall it be: Sown lies shall reap.
Honor has died with integrity.
MY HONOR HAS DIED WITH MY INTEGRITY.

I like the lyrics.
I havent been able to do much research because I only have internet access at work (wireless at home is acting stupid) and I dont wanna get in trouble for looking on youtube for videos. I'll try to go to the library or something tonight. As far as lyrics I'm still on the hunt. But what you have is good. I actually ended up finding the same scripture as you. I'll look for some others.

Scriptures

Post  Michael Bates on Fri Mar 27, 2009 5:17 pm

There's a couple scriptures in Proverbs about integrity.

10:9 - He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known.
11:3 - The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.
20:7 - The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.
28:7 - Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
